Distilling B Corp clarity and climate capability
Bruichladdich Distillery asked Greenheart for support with understanding the detail of the B Corp requirements it would have to meet under the new V2.1 Standard to recertify as a B Corp, and how we recommend they work to close any gaps.

The challenge
Single malt Scotch whisky and gin distillery Bruichladdich was looking for clarity on the new B Corp V2.1 standards, alongside a practical way to translate climate science into something meaningful for its teams.
Greenheart delivered a clear recertification gap analysis aligned with the new standards, as well as hands-on Climate Fresk workshops (a collaborative, science-based workshop designed to help people understand climate change quickly and clearly, without jargon or doom), training internal facilitators in the process. The end result was a team more confident on B Corp next steps, embedded climate literacy and team members ready to lead the conversation from distillery floor to office.
Using our deep B Corp expertise, we conducted a comprehensive B Corp V2.1 Gap Analysis, reviewing current documentation and processes to provide a clear, prioritised action plan for recertification confidence.
Alongside this guidance, we facilitated three Climate Fresk workshops at the Islay distillery and Glasgow office for around 30 employees and supported two of its own staff to run future sessions internally, embedding climate science and engagement throughout the business.
The outcome:
The Bruichladdich Distillery team now has a clear path and the confidence to meet the rigorous new B Corp V2.1 standards, knowing exactly what steps to take to close any gaps.
The business has also taken steps to embed climate literacy throughout its workforce, with two trained internal facilitators ready to champion the Climate Fresk program across the whole organisation- visitor centre employees and bottling hall operators to IT and management.
Moments that mattered
Operating in a remote community on the beautiful Scottish island of Islay, Bruichladdich Distillery have always understood their role in knowledge sharing, with meaningful progress embedded into Bruichladdich’s core. The Climate Fresk sessions and B Corp requirements project has acted as a catalyst for bringing the whole business with them on their impact journey, from simply starting conversations to inspiring action.
What did Bruichladdich say about us?
“Greenheart made something that felt pretty daunting suddenly feel clear and doable. They met us where we were, explained what actually mattered for B Corp recertification and got our teams genuinely engaged with climate change in a way that stuck. We’ve come away with confidence, clarity, and a team of people in the business who can now take this forward.”
